POB Rooms, Interactive Listening Spaces for Music, Focus and Everything In Between

We wanted another way into People of Bohemia Records. A place where discovering music does not always have to begin with a release date, a streaming platform, or a song you already know. Somewhere you can arrive out of curiosity, hear something new, and stay because the environment fits the moment.

That is where POB Rooms began.

POB Rooms are interactive listening spaces organized around mood, function, and different times of the day. You might be studying, writing, working, or looking for something that helps you settle into concentration and productivity. You might want to meditate, slow down, relax, exercise, get into the zone, or simply leave a comfortable lo-fi-style listening environment running while you go about your day.

Or you may just want to hear good music.

At the center of every Room is the music, including tracks already released, music that may appear inside POB before reaching other platforms, alternate interpretations, new pieces we are exploring, and eventually material created specifically for the POB experience.

But we did not want to build another playlist or another player.

The Rooms can be shaped around the way you want to listen. Visual backgrounds can be customized, allowing the screen itself to become part of your environment. Ambient sound layers can be added too, including water, rain, birds, forests, wind, fire, brown noise, and other environmental textures.

You can listen to the music with them, combine sounds to create your own atmosphere, or use environmental sound without music at all.

For study, work, reading, writing, and concentration, POB Rooms also include a Pomodoro timer, bringing a simple productivity tool directly into the listening space. The idea is not to tell you how to focus. It is to give you options and let you build an environment that works for the way you spend your time.

And if you do not need any of those tools, you can ignore them.

Just listen.

Different Rooms are being developed for different states of mind and different parts of the day, from deep focus and calm to breathing, movement, night listening, exercise, and more atmospheric experiences. The goal is to give you reasons to return, because the music or environment you want in the morning may be completely different from what you want later that night.

There will also be an Exclusive Tracks Room, where subscribers and the listeners who stay closest to POB will be able to discover exclusive music, early material, and other experiences that do not necessarily have to exist everywhere else.

For us, that freedom matters.

A new piece of music should not always have to wait until every part of a conventional release campaign is ready before somebody can hear it. POB Rooms give us another way to introduce what we are creating, experiment with different versions, share more, and let people discover music in a more natural way.

The Rooms will evolve with us. New music can arrive. Visual environments can change. New tools can appear. Something you discover today may be completely different six months from now.

We are also working on the mobile experience, but POB Rooms deliberately lean toward desktop.

We like the desk. We like the computer. We like the larger screen and the possibility of leaving a Room open while you work, create, study, read, exercise, meditate, or simply listen.

There is something almost paradoxical about calling that old-fashioned. Not long ago, sitting in front of a computer represented the future. Now that almost everything happens through a phone, perhaps having somewhere to stay for a while feels new again.

POB Rooms are another entrance into People of Bohemia Records, part music discovery, part environment, part productivity space, and sometimes simply somewhere enjoyable to be.

Come because you need to focus. Come because you want to relax. Come because you want new music. Come because you are curious.

Then find your Room.
